In a browser, with nothing to install
The web portal takes calls in Edge or Chrome on a Windows or Mac computer, with a USB or Bluetooth headset.
With a deskphone, or instead of one
The softphone can run alongside a deskphone on the same extension, so a call rings both and you answer whichever is closer. Or it can be the only phone a person has, which is how many of our clients' staff who work from home or on the road run it. Compare the handsets.
What it is
The app is the Vodia softphone, the client for the platform we run in Sydney. Our web portal carries the Fonica look; the mobile app carries Vodia's. Either way it is your extension on our platform, looked after by the same helpdesk as everything else.
What it needs
An internet connection that is good enough for voice. On a mobile that is 4G or better or decent Wi-Fi; in the office it is the connection we would have checked when we set the phones up. If calls break up, that is a network conversation, and because we run internet as well, it is one we can have with ourselves.
